Vegetarian Thanksgiving

This past weekend we celebrated Thanksgiving here in Canada.  This is the second turkey-free Thanksgiving for our family and the first in our new home.  While I still miss eating turkey a bit I certainly don’t miss the work that goes along with it.  Our oven is a bit wonky so I think its a good thing that I didn’t have to experiment with making sure the bird was cooked.  By all accounts the meal was a success and there was so much food we might even forgo Tofurky all together next year.

On the menu:

to start –

local brews, hot crabmeat spread and crackers

the main course – 

Cheddar-Corn Spoon Bread

Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Tofurky Roast

Oven Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Vegan Mushroom Gravy (from Whole Foods)

Sweet-Potato Biscuits

Cranberry Jelly

mmmm dessert – 

Pumpkin Pie

Earnest Ice Cream – Salted Caramel & Pumpkin Pie

We are so very grateful for family and friends and to live in this beautiful and safe part of the world.
